Welcome to ISU
We hope you are ready for an exciting year at Iowa State University.
Please review the important information below:
Make sure your in-session address information is up-to-date. To update your address, click on the Address Change link on the Student tab in AccessPlus.
The ISU Emergency Contact system will provide information for person(s) the university needs to contact in case of a personal emergency (e.g., if you are injured, become ill and cannot transport yourself). Note that this information is separate from your contact information and is not automatically updated. To submit your emergency contact information, go to AccessPlus and choose the Emergency Contact link from the left navigation menu on the homepage. This contact information is considered confidential and is only available to campus emergency response staff.
The ISU Alert emergency notification system will quickly alert Iowa State University students, faculty, and staff of potentially dangerous situations on the Iowa State University campus. Visit the ISU Alert page for details on how to add or update your ISU Alert information.
ONLINE DIRECTORY INFORMATION
As a registered student, your information will be published in the ISU Online Directory unless you request that your information be suppressed. The ISU Online Directory differentiates between verified and guest users. Information available for display to verified users include: name, major, classification, ISU email address, and phone number. Information available for display to guest users include: name, major, and classification.
To opt out of ISU Directory/Public information, click on the How to Suppress My Info button on the ISU Online Directory page. For more information, refer to Student Records in the university catalog and the confidentiality policy.
THIRD PARTY ACCESS
Third party access is an option in AccessPlus that allows students to grant access to selected personal information to a trusted third party. For example, a student may set up a special account for a parent or family member to view their grades and/or pay their university bill.
Most schedule changes may be processed through web registration on AccessPlus prior to the first day of class for that semester. All schedule changes on and/or after the first day of class must be processed with a signed request for Schedule Change or Restriction Waiver form from your adviser. Submit the form to 10 Enrollment Services Center.
Important academic dates are available on the Office of the Registrar Academic Calendars page.
VIEW YOUR DEGREE AUDIT FROM ACCESSPLUS
Degree Audit on AccessPlus allows you to view/print a degree audit or run a What-If degree audit providing options to assist you with your degree planning. What-If degree audits allow you to learn the impact on your academic plan if you were to change your major or minor.
YOUR BILLING STATEMENT
Your most recent billing statement for tuition and fees can be viewed on AccessPlus. You will not receive a statement in the mail. You may pay online or print a copy and mail your payment.
TUITION ADJUSTMENT FOR REDUCTION IN CREDIT
Tuition and fees are based on credit load at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th academic day of the semester. This is the last day for adjustments downward in tuition and fee assessment. Schedule changes that reduce your credit load and are completed after the 10th academic day will no longer be eligible for a tuition reduction. Please note: this deadline does not apply to students who drop all classes (withdraw). Students who withdraw from all credits are subject to the tuition adjustment schedule for withdrawals.
Tuition and fees are subject to change by the University and Board of Regents, State of Iowa.
TUITION AND FEES INFORMATION
Information about specific fee types is available on the Registrar's Fees page.
It is important to remember to file the "Free" Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year between October 1 and December 1 in order to be considered for priority financial aid.
DEPARTMENT OF RESIDENCE
Information Technology Services (ITS) can provide the most current information about software updates. You can reach them at the Solution Center 294-4000.
