Monthly Verification of School Enrollment
Many students who are using G.I. Bill® Education Benefits have a monthly verification requirement. This is a requirement of the VA and must be completed by the student. The process to verify continued enrollment depends on the chapter of eligibility.
Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33)- Students can opt into text, email, or call the VA to confirm their continued attendance in courses. They can also use a login.gov or id.me account to verify school attendance online. If a student fails to verify for two months, the VA withholds payment until the student contacts them.
Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606) and Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (Chapter 30)- Students must use a login.gov or id.me account to verify their school attendance online.
